Restart = Reset

Finding my why

Why?

After teaching for 14 years in the classroom, life gave me an opportunity to push the reset button! Then I asked "Why"?

I had taught subjects that interested me so work didn't feel like work. In asking the question "Why?" I found that experience had taught me that "Do what I LOVE and love what I DO" was more than just a phrase.

I have a passion for teaching and my classroom have always been confined by the walls of the schools I worked at. What if my classroom had no boundaries and I could incorporate my passion for teaching with my love of technology. My "why" then became more of a purpose question.

Embracing the struggle

Growing up a child of Mexican immigrants my whole life has been a test of trail and error. With being the "first" in my family to graduate and constantly walk into new environments, I learned to not fear the unknown.

In thinking of my reset, I have taken the same approach to my career in technology and education. Instead of worrying about what I don't have for my students, I look for the tool that allows me to create.

Instead of thinking what we don't have, we embrace the idea of loving the struggle. That every setback is an opportunity to find a new way to "Do It".

This is me.

Embracing the scars from my past and learning that my struggles made me who I AM today. That nobody is perfect and we are all trying to find a way to contribute.

My mission now is the bring equity to technology. That we should not have a price tag. I also want to share my story of how education gave me a chance. That it changed my life and it all started with a teacher finding the tool that spoke to me.

I know now that my whole life has been a series of setbacks and tension on the rubber band that I am. That every time I struggled and didn't give up, I pulled back on the rubber band. That each lesson learned made me a sling shot. That once I found my why, I could let go and fire towards my purpose.

I am walking in mine, are you?
